Told you all there was something wrong Taking from your newborn Stealing from your kids Grabbing what you lack Pennies on their eyelids Knock them into submission Crush all questioning Make them pray to heaven See what it will bring Told you all there was something wrong Were the seizures really from A heavy wooden swing Or was it all the times You knocked the kid around? And all the doctor's visits Must have also been his fault Gotta keep that little mind All gagged and bound Oh no... he remembers Told you all there was something wrong

Sitting on either side of the child Reaching in and stealing little bites of his light Popping them in their mouths like it was candy Little one stumbles around confused by the hole in his chest Another year down How you gonna patch that hole? Every time he reaches up to feel You know they slap his hand away "I expected just a little loyalty" That's what they're guaranteed to say Another year down How you gonna patch that hole? And if you try to bring it up When you see their mask briefly fall "You've got to tell me I'm amazing Or don't you tell me anything at all" Another year down How you gonna patch that hole?

your head 05:01
Dawning of a brand new day Sunrise on the hill and I just don't know what to say Oh, how I long to say Why can't this moment last forever? Pull your head together Pull your head Holding you here In my arms Just for a moment No helicopters or amber alarms Smoke from the wildfires Over in China Is dissipating now Let me kiss your hand Oh, how I long to say Why can't this moment last forever? Pull your head together Pull your head The windows and the doors Are all sealed We're both locked and loaded And the pantry is full Take off the gas mask To gaze at the moon For a second I almost forget That the end is coming soon Oh, how I long to say Why can't this moment last forever? Pull your head together Pull your head

Old man smoking a cigarette on a park bench Yells out "Hey!" as I'm walking by He seemed pretty harmless, so I said okay I'll give him five minutes, then I gotta be on my way I put my money in the wrong parking meter I got a ticket all the same Despite my best intentions I've got no one else to blame He said, "Are you leaving your garage door open at night Inviting the whole world into your heart? Stomping around with their muddy boots Raiding your refrigerator, stealing your art?" No! Not everyone is trying To make this world a better place No! Not everyone is yearning To love more deeply every day Don't ever feel remorse Don't ever feel remorse For holding light In the presence of darkness Old man smoking a cigarette at the stop light Gonna clean my windshield whether I like it or not It's dirtier now than when he started I gave him a dollar, said "it's all I've got" He said "Be careful what you wish for You gotta focus on the lesson, not the pain Not everybody's looking for peace Not everybody lights the way" He said, "Are you leaving your garage door open at night Inviting the whole world into your heart? Stomping around with their muddy boots Raiding your refrigerator, stealing your art?" No! Not everyone is trying To make this world a better place No! Not everyone is yearning To love more deeply every day Don't ever feel remorse Don't ever feel remorse For holding light In the presence of darkness

Come and play the game with me You know the one I mean Tell me I'm amazing When I say how hard it's been I don't feel like growing But I sure do want relief This is just how I am Hanging on to that belief Tell me I'm amazing I don't want to change at all My fate is like a feather On the ever-changing winds Smart enough to see That it all ends like it begins I am thirsty, yes, But I'm not as dumb as you think You can bring me water You will never make me drink Tell me I'm amazing I don't want to change at all Tell me I'm amazing Tell me I'm amazing In my prison to remain Same old story once again And I'm not the one to blame Don't you dare ask me to change Recreate my past Because it's everything I know It's worked for me so far Don't you tell me I should let it go Don't need nobody helping I'm fine just as I am Just tell me I'm amazing That the whole world is a scam Tell me I'm amazing I don't want to change at all

Providing the stimulus for your predictable response Promise to fulfill your deepest needs and wants Shiny new vehicle that you love to flaunt The car is now long gone But the payments still come around each month to haunt you They're preying for reign Shiny new truck with keyless entry Driving on down to the food pantry I think I need another flat screen tv We only have three and this one's almost free Gain control of hearts and minds Watch them leave good sense behind Selling heaven, selling hope Another hit so they can cope Attention-seeking behaviors Emotion-based attack vectors Just tell me I'm amazing And spare me your moral lectures They're preying for reign Preying on our emotions Preying on our greed Preying on our fear Preying on our need For more views For more likes For more kicks Preying on our need for another dopamine fix Preying on my sense of urgency Preying on vulnerability Preying on every single opportunity To leverage my emotions against me We are the prey Attention-seeking behaviors Emotion-based attack vectors Just tell me I'm amazing And spare me your moral lectures Cede control of our hearts and minds Watch us leave good sense behind Renting heaven, leasing hope Another hit so we can cope They're preying for reign And we're handing it over on a silver tray

special boy 03:13
Don't try telling him what to do Here comes Special Boy A little bit better than me and you Here comes Special Boy The everyday rules don't apply Here comes Special Boy Get out of his way and don't ask why Here comes Special Boy Is it compensation For a lack of relation? Does he somehow believe That he deserves to grieve? And if this is the case Is the smirk on his face Rebellion against himself Or contempt for everyone else? Special, he's so special Special Boy, yeah! Though it breaks my heart in two Here comes Special Boy I watch knowing there's nothing to do There goes Special Boy His mind is made, intention set There goes Special Boy To interfere will bring regret There goes Special Boy Another generation Filled with resignation

Since early youth he had a thirst for truth Yet he still throws his bucket overboard To pull it up and drink when he's thirsty From the salty, salty Sea of Betrayal You can taste all the lies Though I've never met you Broke my heart all the same Abuse your power over the vulnerable Talk your way out of the blame Degree from Ivy League Your clothing fits you well There's a place for you in politics A place for you in hell They claim to see what's best for you and me Then they make their living off our backs Machine without a soul; keep us all under control And everybody claims to have the facts You can taste all the lies In your face, all the lies Since early youth I've had a thirst for truth Yet I still throw my bucket overboard I pull it up and drink when I'm thirsty From the endless salty Sea of Betrayal

I hung out with the Son of Dracula I hung out with the Prince of Pain I hung out with the Duke of Darkness He was raised on wind and rain Son of Dracula goes to therapy Well of course I've got these bites on my neck! The Old Man's gotta get his life force from somewhere, don't he? He loves me! And I should be grateful after all he's done for me, Always keeping me safe from the dangerous world I know no one can be trusted, only him Let me tell you about the Old Man He always had a smile for all of his friends They all thought he'd be there til the end "What a perfect family" they would say But they didn't see what happened at the end of each day He's not concerned with wrong or right Emotional incest in plain sight Always making sure he don't get caught At the drop of a hat he can act distraught It's time again for Dracula Bingo! How many traits can YOU find? Never sincerely apologizes! Possessive and Jealous! Belittling and Patronizing! Denial and Gaslighting! Stalking! Competitive! Passive aggressive! SMEAR CAMPAIGNS! FLYING MONKEYS! Mirroring! And projecting all of his evil onto you! I hung out with the Son of Dracula I hung out with the Prince of Pain I hung out with the Duke of Darkness He was raised on wind and rain Tell me a story You want a story? I'll tell you a story "You want some attention? I'll give you some attention!" Woman fast asleep Alone in her home Man sneaks in the window Gonna take all that she owns He grabs all of her jewelry Takes all that can be found He bumps into a table She wakes up at the sound She finds him at the window And with a smile and a wink He disappears into the night And all that she can think Is "I wonder if he likes me? I wonder if he'll call? I wonder if he loves me? Or cares for me at all?" I hung out with the Son of Dracula

Look in the mirror A little bit clearer Don't let Chupacabra Get any nearer Daybreak as I gallop from the sunrise Under a sky of golden blue divine I've got to see all corners with my own eyes I love this world, I'm gonna make it mine His kindness and trust Was leveraged against him His innocence was leveraged Look in the mirror A little bit clearer Don't let The Confidence Man Get any nearer Midday, countless hopes and dreams lie broken Wary, weary, leery and bleary-eyed Broke his head against the truth Broke his heart against his youth A ship of fools abandoned and capsized Look in the mirror A little bit clearer Don't let Chupacabra Get any nearer Sunset, calm gaze remaining steady Though a gentleness remains in those eyes Wooden spikes and garlic at the ready As the parade of This Year's Hopefuls marches by A human skin mask to disguise The lifeless dead stare in his eyes A human skin mask to disguise The lifeless dead stare in her eyes Beware Chupacabra Beware The Confidence Man
