Life emanates from the blue
I had my whole love invested in you
But then they called your number
I'll bet masses flocked to the gate
To see the newest member succumbed to fate
They called me in, too... the Handy Man
The gate's hinges seem to be rusted
They made a screeching, singing sound
They must have been busted
But everyone you bring in here
Is broken at the keel
As every ship that rides the sea
Has once been made to heel
I ask the guy, "Who's in charge?"
He turns to the left, "Go see the Sarge!"
So I ask the grey guy about the gate
When he looks at me and says, "You just procreate"
I said I'd need three gifted souls
That gate looks heavy... like, disaster unfolds
Three souls who withstood a test
He sent me three of his very best
We fixed the tarnished gate that day
A pat on the can, our only pay
But who can say what a pat can bring
When the bell above your door may ring?
