Written and recorded in Takamatsu, Japan. August, 2006. If you're ever in Takamatsu, check out Ruff House. Konjo-san, the owner, is really cool, and can play some mean lead guitar. Across the street is his long-time friend Koji-san, the proprietor of Hariraya Tea House. Both great guys. (But don't order the nachos at Ruff House. Seriously. It really is Doritos in a cup with cheddar cheese melted over it in the microwave. Five bucks. Ouch. But you probably didn't go there to eat nachos, anyway...)
lyrics
I Need Some Mexican Food
I woke up last night at a quarter to one
I found myself in the Land of the Rising Sun
I tried to go back to sleep, but my stomach was kickin'
I needed me a bucket full of something finger-lickin'
Been jammin' on the sushi, been jammin' on the rice
And the squid on a stick was really nice
But at the end of the day, I've gotta have it my way
Enchiladas are callin', and all I can say...
I need some Mexican food
I need some Mexican food
Don't wanna come off as rude
I need some Mexican food
I've had “futatsu beiru” that was mighty cold
And a pound of raw meat that was good as gold
I'm eatin' Udon noodles and wasabe galore
I've held fish so fresh it wiggled in the grocery store
It's only been a month, it ain't that long
But I'm gettin' kind of itchy and the urge is strong
I'm bowing long and low, don't want to come off as rude
But hear me when I say I need some Mexican food
I need some Mexican food
I need some Mexican food
Don't wanna come off as rude
I need some Mexican food
I woke up last night at a quarter to one
And the grumbling and growling just ain't no fun
I'm rolling down Ban-cho, stomach's still kickin'
Chopsticks in my pocket, but it just ain't clickin'
When I tried to get some nachos, I was out of luck
Doritos in a cup, and it cost me five bucks
Guess I'll have to swim back to Austin, TX
Where it's 24/7 down-home Tex-Mex
I need some Mexican food
I need some Mexican food
Don't wanna come off as rude
I need some Mexican food
