I've never been much
of a bird of prey
I'm more of a glorious fashion king
I was just born that way
But one fine morning
It was meant to be
I made my escape right out of this cage
Took flight and I was free
Free to roam these wild woods
Free to eat more bugs than I probably should
Free to explore someone's back yard
Free to watch these two little boys playing so hard
When they spotted me
I tried to run
But they were too quick
And I thought that I was done for
I could see a wild look
in their eyes
They carried me back to the house
to show off their prize
Babysitter said
I could not come inside
So they put me in the laundry room
Where there's really no place to hide
Sun went down and the moon came up
I was getting hungry
It was looking like
I was out of luck
In the middle of the night
I heard a sound
Lights came on and a woman screamed
Shocked at what she found
She opened the door
and I didn't think twice
Headed back to the Tampa Zoo
Where they treated me really nice
